Catherine Banner was born in 1989 and currently resides in Cambridge, England. She begun writing her debut novel (The Eyes of a King) at age 14. As of February 2009 she is writing her third book of the series The Last Descendants. Second book, Voices in the Dark, is scheduled for release on September 22, 2009.
Her adventure with writing started at school where Catherine would write in any spare time she could find, including weekends, after school, and even during the class in the back of the classroom.

After completing the novel, Catherine went to a book festival in Cambridge where she spoke with an agent and asked if he thought that she was too young to write. Agent, having found out that she has already wrote a book asked her to send it to him. Soon enough she had a contract to sign.

Now Cathy is a published author with a novel that went to #7 on the Amazon.co.uk Children?s Bestseller List and #30 overall. There is also a talk about movie being made based on her books.

Lauren Buckland, Miss Banner's editor at Random House believes she has a remarkable talent and "she may even take on JK Rowling.

In October 2008 Banner began her studies in English literature at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
