The Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
We're doing the LOTR marathon with the wife, last moments of freedom before our son is born. We're reminiscing on our trip to New Zealand and everything...

Book of Eli
Good movie. Denzel Washington was awesome as usual. I think Gary Oldman could have played better, his character was similar to Zorg from Fifth Element but was lacking the cruelty Zorg had.
Over all a good movie and is worth watching. |

I Am Curious... Yellow. A Swedish movie starring Lena Nystrom as an actress named Lena Nystrom who's working on a movie where she plays a character named Lena Nystrom who wanders the country polling people about their views on class, socialism, and nonviolence, in between canoodling with her lover, who has failed to mention his other girlfriend and their child. The line between fact and fiction gets rather blurry...
I Am Curious... Blue. A Swedish movie starring Lena Nystrom as an actress named Lena Nystrom who's working on a movie where she plays a character named Lena Nystrom who wanders the country polling people about their views on class, socialism, and nonviolence, in between searching for her mother who was committed to mental hospital when she was a child, but was later released and remariied and now has a son that Lena has never met. The line between fact and fiction is even blurrier here... |

I'm curious, what was that you didn't like in that movie so much? They way it was filmed? (it was a low budget movie) Or the fact that it was very depressing? or maybe something else?

| I think part of the point of the I Am Curious movies is to get the audience lost. Lena is playing herself making a movie... about herself. In some scenes, you see the camera crew stop filming Lena and her lover so they can have their fights behind closed doors. Even though they're only lovers in the script. Some parts get a bit tedious, like the interviews with random people, but overall the films make for interesting, if odd, viewing. |

Hmmm, since I still can't remember the last movie I watched....
Movie I'm half way through is Clerks... I've seen Clerks 2 just never the original, it's quite amusing. |

The way it was filmed (Blair Witch style) which I found annoying and not at all like a real movie......not a fan of "reality tv" style anything. I want reality, I will turn off the tv and go outside.
I find it funny that the movie is considered low budget when the creatures 'prawns' were to me extremely well done. |

It was filmed in a low-budget style, but it was too real to be as cheap as it was meant to look.
Julie & Julia. A sweet movie about the life of famous Cook Julia Child and blogger Julie Powell, who challenged herself to Cook all of Julia's recipes over the course of a single year. |

ok, I admit, I was wrong about the low budget. it wasn't huge ($30 M), but definitely not a low budget category.
As for watching kind of watched Year One with one eye doing other stuff. It was pretty much what I expected, a stupid comedy with few funny moments and few scenes I'd rather surgically remove from my memory.
What I did love was the last episode of The Big Bang theory, The Large Hadron Collision. Totally HILARIOUS! |

The Dark is Rising.
The worst book to movie adaptation EVER. I mean really, changing to main character from a 11-year-old British boy to an American teenager only to avoid it being compared to Harry Potter? Not to mention the butchered plot, strange changes to characters, an added love interest... Urgh. Susan Cooper's books are great so it would have been better if they had actually not made the movie at all. |

Sherlock Holmes
It was funny, entertaining and charming. Not the usual detective-gentleman but deffinitely worth the time.
On my mainstream (meaning anime), I'm finishing "Kemono no Souja Erin". Great fantasy setting and good plot, the only weakness (for me) is the fact that it was intended for young auditory. |

| I feel for you, Unda. I loved the Dark Is Rising sequence as a kid, and I cringed when I heard that they were changing him to an American, aging him, adding a romance... I couldn't bear to watch the train wreck they turned it into. |
